Community Cohesion

Our Projects

We measure our success in actual lives changed. These projects are to make the difference in the communities and show what we can make when we come together to create lasting change.

Project One

Pride was started in Burnley in 2016 by East Lancashire LGBT, whom we have taken over. Pride is a yearly event taking place on the last bank holiday weekend in May.

This will be the second year following a successful event in 2016 The B U Foundation aims to bring a bigger and brighter pride to Burnley.

Project Two

Transgender Day of Remembrance, which occurs annually on November 20, is a day to memorialize those who have been murdered as a result of transphobia and to bring attention to the continued violence endured by the transgender community.

The Transgender Day of Remembrance was founded in 1999 by Gwendolyn Ann Smith, a transgender woman, to memorialize the murder of transgender woman Rita Hester in Allston, Massachusetts.

Project Three

World Aids Day

World AIDS Day, designated on 1 December every year since 1988, is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection, and mourning those who have died of the disease. Government and health officials, non-governmental organizations and individuals around the world observe the day, often with education on AIDS prevention and control.
